For designers Payal Singhal and Masaba Gupta it was a case of art mimicking life. For a year (and continuing) spent in sweatpants, collections took inspiration from our real-life closets. The way we dress now is steeped in sensibility and versatility—a wardrobe that can work round the clock. In a mix of high and low, street and sophisticated, Singhal brought sports bras to saris and fanny packs to several looks. Khaki joggers weren’t far behind, and a new and improved hybrid of the jogger was patented: The harem jogger—drop-crotch and draped but with all the tenets of the comfortable couchwear we've come to love.
