Juttis may have been a part of the Indian attire since the 1600s, it has only recently found its place in the contemporary fashion landscape because of footwear labels like Fizzy Goblet. Designer Laksheeta Goyal launched this brainchild back in 2014, and she has revamped the silhouette of a traditional jutti in multiple, creative ways. Many regions in India have their own interpretation of the jutti—but more often than not, all of these versions come drenched in colours and embroideries representative of that state. Today, this classic footwear option comes in the form of a sneaker and has also seen representation in the form of heels—working their way into the our closets and capturing a piece of our heart.

Fashion collaborations today often lack the impact and barely make it to season 2. But 5 years ago, Fizzy Goblet forged a partnership with popular fusion-wear label Payal Singhal—combining the prowess of 2 different creative visions, resulting in a lasting legacy. Both Payal and Laksheeta have managed to bring the USP’s of their individual brands to design a series of collections that inventively merges their expertise. What happens when two women-led labels come together? Payal and Laksheeta let us in on what sets this collaboration apart.
