Delhi’s New Designer Destinations
Payal Singhal has a new address in Delhi. The Mumbai based designer and celebrity favourite unveiled her store-in-store at multi-brand fashion retail Aza located in Ambawatta One, an open-plan complex overlooking the Qutub Minar that also houses flagship outposts of Indian designers like Manish Malhotra and Rahu Mishra and international décor stores. With the Aza association, Singhal commands a sizeable chunk of the first-floor boutique and her eponymous label gets special mention at the store’s entrance. Spread across multiple sections within an inner room (earmarked by branding on the wall), Payal Singhal x Aza showcases ensembles from the designer’s various collections. A selection of embellished, sorbet hued lehnga sets are displayed next to designs from bestsellers like kaftans, athleisure cords and drop-croth bottoms to affordable prêt with price tags at ₹3,000.
Also find Singhal’s new collection ‘Suroor’, which introduces new embellishments and silhouettes, some garments printed with the PS logo—a first for the brand. Another section showcases the designers’ growing collection of accessories—bags and vanity kits, scarves and belts for women, ties and pocket squares for men and embellished face masks. The displays may seem cramped, but presents a comprehensive offering from the brand; a private section right next to the section offers tired shoppers respite and seating space.
