Payal Singhal's Collaboration With Endstate Is A Fusion Of Tech And Style
Co-designed by Endstate’s co-founder and former Nike and New Balance designer, Stephanie Howard, the sneakers draw inspiration from the decorative adornments of ancient tribes. Featuring asymmetrical lacing, laser-etched details, and metal embellishments, the sneakers are available in white/black and silver colourways. Each pair utilises Endstate’s proprietary 3-chip technology, making them verifiably authentic and granting owners access to exclusive content, offers, and events.
Well, each collaboration has its own issues – this one was no exception. Singhal says, “It’s hard to bring cohesion and narrative to various product categories without losing the brand’s language while strategising around creativity.” Yet, Singhal and Howard managed to find a rich, creative comfort in the back-and-forth of a digital environment. It was the intention to design a shoe with materials that would retain their identity, and at the same time, be appropriate for mass production, which yielded a very fine design.
